CHAMPAGNE M BRUGNON
Écueil, Montagne de Reims & Vallée de la Marne
The Brugnon Perspective
Champagne M. Brugnon represents a philosophy that is becoming increasingly rare in today's Champagne landscape: wine exists first and foremost to be enjoyed. Based in Écueil and farming vineyards across both the Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne, the Brugnon family has spent four generations crafting Champagnes that prioritize balance, generosity, and pleasure above fashion or trend.
The estate's 8.5 hectares span three distinct terroirs, including the sandy soils surrounding Écueil, the chalk-rich slopes of Rilly-la-Montagne, and the clay-influenced parcels of Mont-Saint-Père. This diversity provides an unusually broad palette for blending, allowing Alain and Valérie Brugnon to create wines that feel complete, harmonious, and effortlessly drinkable. Their approach is guided by careful vineyard stewardship, sustainable viticulture, and the belief that great Champagne begins with respect for both the land and the rhythm of the seasons.
For Alain Brugnon, Champagne is not meant to be overcomplicated. While many producers increasingly pursue austerity, reduction, or ever-lower dosage levels, Brugnon remains devoted to the timeless virtues that have made Champagne beloved for generations: balance, texture, freshness, and the simple joy of sharing a bottle with others. His wines possess depth and character, but never at the expense of pleasure.
In a region often defined by innovation and reinvention, M. Brugnon stands as a confident reminder of Champagne's enduring traditions. These are wines built for celebrations, family gatherings, long lunches, and life's happiest moments—Champagnes that honor the past while remaining timelessly relevant today.

Perlage Note
What first attracted us to M. Brugnon was the joy of the wines. They are not Champagnes that demand analysis or contemplation. They are Champagnes that invite another glass.
Alain Brugnon often reminds us that wine should be enjoyed before it is discussed. That philosophy runs through everything he creates. His wines are generous, welcoming, and remarkably satisfying—built not around trends or fashions, but around the simple pleasure of sharing a great bottle with people you enjoy.
Within our portfolio, M. Brugnon serves as an important counterpoint. These wines remind us that Champagne does not always need to challenge us. Sometimes its greatest purpose is simply to make us happy.
